My Arctic Animal Competition

Learn about ‘Arctic Wildlife’ and create your own comic character for a chance to cameo in The Last Polar Bears Side-Story!

Wildlife Warriors welcomes a new Ambassador ‘Lindsay Cibos’- the talented illustrator and author behind ‘The Last Polar Bears’ graphic novel. In her new role as global wildlife guardian Ms. Cibos is helping inspire creative conservation by uniting with our initiative to present ‘Wildlife Warriors’ around the world an opportunity to raise awareness and support for Polar Bears International and the Arctic Documentary Project.

The competition encourages participants to Explore the Arctic, discovering the beauty and fragility of this endangered ecosystem and develop an understanding and appreciation for the amazing diversity of animals it supports. Comprised of three parts (inspiration, research and creation) the competition includes a tutorial by Lindsay (featured in the May/June 2012 issue of Bare Essentials – free to access and download), supportive resources that link to our conservation partners and the creation of a comic character based on Arctic wildlife.

Competition Details:

Open to contestants internationally within three age categories – eight and under, nine to thirteen, fourteen to eighteen.

Entrants must submit ‘original work only’ as a one-page comic about their own Arctic animal character.

Comic can be funny or serious, so long as it’s about an animal from the Arctic (prompting them to use the resources provided to learn about Arctic wildlife).
